It will impose ruinous costs on nearly 1 million residential and business customers, drive up rents and make our electric grid less reliable. Yet it will make no difference to world climate and Mother Earth.

The destruction of Baltimore’s Key Bridge by an out-of-control container ship, has raised concerns about Washington’s bridge safety. Senator Wilson plans to introduce a bill for the 2025 legislative session to study vulnerability of bridges on Washington waterways to impacts from commercial vessels.

Senator Wilson sponsored a bill that would have put teeth in a state law preventing harassment of initiative signature-gatherers. “Washington state should not tolerate harassment and intimidation of signature gatherers, and it shouldn’t matter what petitions they are carrying,” Wilson said.
